What Is Shopify Regional Pricing?
Shopify regional pricing means charging different prices to shoppers in different locations within the same country. A brand might charge ₹999 in metro cities and ₹899 in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities - the same product, two prices, based on where the shopper is.
Shopify does not support this natively. Its built-in Markets feature handles international pricing (USD vs EUR vs INR), but not sub-country pricing within one currency. Regional pricing requires a third-party app that uses Shopify Functions - server-side logic that executes at checkout - to apply real price changes.

Pincodes, Ranges and Wildcards - Any Granularity
A region is a set of pincodes: individual pincodes, ranges (400001-400099) and wildcards (40*). That lets one region be a single pincode, a city, a whole state, or your own zone.
At checkout, Lokally uses the pincode of the shopper's delivery address to pick the region. Pincodes in no region use your default region.
Three Price Adjustment Types
Amount off: subtract a flat amount (for example ₹100) from the product price in the region.
Percentage off: take a percentage (for example 10%) off the product price in the region.
Fixed regional price: set a specific price (for example ₹799). It applies only when it is below the product's normal price, because Shopify only lets apps lower prices at checkout.
Real Checkout Prices via Shopify Functions
Unlike apps that only change displayed prices on the storefront, Lokally uses Shopify Functions - code that runs on Shopify's own servers at checkout. The price adjustment is applied to the actual line item, not just the visual display.
This means: the price in the cart matches the product page, the price in the order confirmation matches the cart, and your Shopify reports show exactly what shoppers paid.
How to set it up

Install Lokally
Install Lokally from the Shopify App Store and choose a plan. New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial, billed through Shopify.

Create your regions
In Lokally, go to Regions and add a region for each area. Paste its pincodes (one per line or comma-separated), or use ranges (400001-400099) and wildcards (40*) to cover a city or a whole state.

Add a pricing rule
Go to Pricing rules, then Create pricing rule, and choose the region.

Choose what it applies to
All products, or specific products and collections.

Set the price
A percentage off, an amount off, or a fixed regional price. Lokally can only lower prices: a fixed price above your normal price has no effect.

Shoppers who choose that region see the new price on your storefront. At checkout, the price follows the pincode of their delivery address.
Frequently asked questions
Does Shopify support regional pricing natively?
No. Shopify Markets handles pricing by country (USD for the US, EUR for the EU), not different prices within one country. For prices by pincode, city or state within a country you need an app like Lokally.
