Launch walkthrough

1. Step 1

   Install, choose a plan and turn on the app embed

   Install Lokally, start the free trial, and switch on the app embed so Lokally runs on your storefront.

   • Install Lokally from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions.
   • Lokally opens on Plan and billing. Choose Pro Monthly or Pro Annual and start the 7-day free trial (billed through Shopify).
   • On Home, click 'Open theme editor' on 'Turn on the app embed'. Switch Lokally on and click Save.
   • Check Settings > System health: each check shows whether it's working, with a button to fix it if not.

2. Step 2

   Create your first region

   Group pincodes into a region using exact pincodes, ranges or wildcards.

   • Go to Regions and click '+ Create Region'.
   • Enter a label (e.g. 'Mumbai'). The key is suggested from it and can't be changed after saving.
   • In 'Add pincodes', enter pincodes and click 'Add Pincodes'. Use wildcards like '40*' for a whole area, or ranges like '400001-400099'.
   • Optionally turn on 'Set as default region' to cover pincodes that aren't in any other region.
   • Click Save in the bar at the top.

3. Step 3

   Add a regional price

   Lower prices for a region with a percentage off, an amount off or a fixed price.

   • Go to Pricing rules and click 'Create Pricing Rule'.
   • Choose the region, then 'All products' or 'Specific products or collections'.
   • Choose Percentage off, Amount off, or Set a fixed price (below your normal price: Lokally can only lower prices).
   • Optionally set Starts at and Ends at (UTC).
   • Click 'Save & publish', or 'Save as draft' to publish later.

4. Step 4

   Hide or rename payment methods by region

   Hide Cash on Delivery in high-return pincodes, rename a method, or hide it above an order value.

   • Go to Payment rules. Click 'Reload payment methods' to find methods used in your recent orders, or 'Add manually' and type the name exactly as it appears at checkout.
   • On a method (e.g. Cash on Delivery), click 'Add Rule', choose the region and 'Always hide' (or 'Rename at checkout'), and click Save.
   • To hide cash on delivery above an order value, use the 'Cash on delivery limit' card.
   • Click 'Publish changes'. Rules apply at checkout based on the delivery pincode; Lokally sets up Shopify's payment customization for you.

5. Step 5

   Set up rewards

   Give shoppers in a region a discount, discount code or gift card when their cart reaches a set value.

   • Go to Rewards and click 'Create reward rule'.
   • Choose a region (or Global) and the minimum cart value.
   • Choose Instant (discount at checkout), Post-purchase (discount code or gift card after the order), or Both.
   • For post-purchase rewards, turn on 'Email the code to the customer' to have Lokally send it, or use Shopify Flow with the order metafield pce.reward_code.
   • Click 'Save & publish'.
