State-level pricing means setting different product prices for customers in different Indian states. A brand might price a product at ₹999 in high-income western states (Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka) and ₹879 in eastern and central states with more price-sensitive consumers.
State-level pricing is simpler to manage than pincode-level pricing and covers the most common use cases: distributor territory pricing, metro vs non-metro price tiers, and state-level competitive pricing.

How to Set It Up

Open Regional Pricing → New Rule
In the Lokally dashboard, navigate to Regional Pricing and click 'New Rule'.
Select 'State' as location type
Choose State from the location type options.
Select target states
Choose one or more Indian states from the dropdown. You can select multiple states for one rule if they share the same price tier.
Set price adjustment
Choose Fixed Discount, Percentage Off, or Fixed Price Override. Select which products or collections this rule applies to, or 'All Products'.
Publish and repeat for each tier
Publish the rule. Repeat Steps 2–6 for each price tier (e.g. metro states, Tier 2 states, Tier 3 states). All rules go live immediately after publish.
