What to Configure in Lokally

Export your high-RTO pincode list

In Shopify Admin → Orders → Export. Filter for COD orders that were returned or cancelled after shipment. In the CSV, group by customer postal code and sort by return count. Take the top 100–300 pincodes.

Create COD restriction rule

In Lokally → Payment Rules → New Rule → Hide → Cash on Delivery. Upload the high-RTO pincode CSV as the target location. Optionally set scope to products above a certain price (if you want to keep COD for low-value items).

Configure the pincode widget message

In Lokally → Settings → Pincode Widget, set a custom unavailability message for COD-blocked pincodes: 'Cash on Delivery is not available in your area. UPI and cards accepted.' This appears in the pincode widget before checkout, reducing confusion.

In Lokally → Regional Pricing → New Rule, set a small discount (−₹50 to −₹100) for the same high-RTO pincodes where COD is blocked. This gives buyers in those pincodes a positive reason to choose prepaid rather than just seeing COD missing.
