It lets you show different prices, storefront content, payment methods, and promotions to shoppers in different regions - by pincode, grouped into cities, states or your own zones - all from a single Shopify store. You define regions once, attach rules to them, and Lokally serves the right experience to each shopper automatically.

Yes, with Online Store 2.0 themes that support app blocks and app embeds. Lokally uses Shopify theme app extensions and never edits your theme files: turn on the Lokally app embed in the theme editor and add Lokally blocks where you want them. No code needed.

Lokally works on all Shopify plans that support Shopify Functions - that includes Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Shopify Plus. Shopify Functions (which power Lokally's checkout pricing) are available on all paid plans as of 2024.

Yes, they can run side by side. Shopify Markets handles international multi-currency storefronts (country-level). Lokally handles sub-country regional commerce - different prices and content by pincode (a city, a state or your own zones) within a single country. If you sell both internationally and across regions within India, you can use both.

Yes. Lokally is built exclusively on official Shopify APIs - Shopify Functions for checkout pricing and Theme App Extensions for storefront content. No third-party checkout hacks or theme file modifications are used. Everything runs within Shopify's native platform.

Yes. While many of Lokally's features are designed around India-specific needs (pincodes, COD, RTO), the platform works for any merchant who wants sub-country regional commerce. You can define regions by postal code, including ranges and wildcards, for any country and apply pricing, content, or payment rules to those regions.

No. Everything in Lokally is configured through a dashboard - regions, pricing rules, content swaps, payment restrictions, and reward programs. In the Shopify Theme Editor you turn on the Lokally app embed and, if you like, drag in the location block. No code files are touched, no liquid edits required.

Paste them into a region's pincode box: one per line or separated by commas. Ranges (110001-110099) and wildcards (11*) cover many pincodes at once, and Lokally warns you about pincodes that overlap another region.

Lokally's discounts are removed straight away, and all your Lokally data is deleted 48 hours later. Shopify removes the app's blocks, app embed and Functions from your store. Your theme files were never changed, so nothing is left behind.

Yes. Post-purchase reward codes are written to an order metafield, so you can send them with Shopify Flow, or an email platform such as Klaviyo or Omnisend. Lokally can also email the code to the customer for you.

When a shopper enters their pincode (or it is detected via their shipping address), Lokally matches it to a region you have defined. At checkout, a Shopify Function applies the correct price for that region - server-side, inside Shopify's checkout. The shopper sees their regional price before completing payment. No coupon codes, no manual overrides.

Not natively - Shopify's default pricing is one price per currency, per product. Lokally adds pincode-level pricing by running a Shopify Function at checkout that applies your configured price for the shopper's pincode. The price is real (not a display trick) and is enforced at the point of payment.

Shopify price lists (used with Shopify Markets or B2B) work at the country or company level. Lokally works at pincode level (grouped into cities, states or zones) within a single country. If you need ₹1,499 in Tier-2 cities and ₹1,999 in metros - all within India - Lokally is the tool for that. Shopify price lists cannot do sub-country geographic segmentation.

Yes. Create a region for each state (or group of states) using its pincode prefixes as wildcards, for example 40* to 44* for Maharashtra, and add a pricing rule for each. This is simpler than pincode-level pricing and suits franchise or territory pricing that follows state boundaries.

Yes. Lokally's pricing rules apply at checkout via Shopify Functions and work alongside Shopify's native discount system. Your compare-at prices and sale badges in the storefront work as normal; Lokally applies the regional price adjustment at the checkout stage.

Yes. Pricing rules support both percentage adjustments (e.g., 10% lower for Tier-2 cities) and fixed price overrides (e.g., exactly ₹1,299 for all products in a zone). You can also mix rule types across different regions.

Not as a minimum order value: use Shopify's own settings for that. Lokally's cash on delivery limit does the opposite kind of check: it hides cash on delivery above an order value, for all regions or per region.

Lokally doesn't change your compare-at prices. On the storefront it updates the selling price for the shopper's region and leaves compare-at prices as they are. At checkout, the regional price is applied as a discount.

There's no fixed limit on regions or rules. A shopper can get a regional price, regional content and a payment rule from one publish. The practical limit is Shopify's 10 KB size for checkout settings; System health shows how much you use, and ranges and wildcards keep it small.

Yes. The Lokally dashboard shows a preview of how pricing rules will apply before you publish. You can also test by entering a pincode in the storefront location input to see the price as a shopper in that region would.

Not noticeably. Checkout pricing runs inside Shopify Functions, server-side on Shopify's infrastructure. On the storefront, the Lokally app embed loads a small deferred script, built to keep its effect on page speed low.

They see your normal prices and content. Regional prices and content apply once they choose a pincode in the Lokally popup or widget. At checkout, prices and payment rules follow the delivery address pincode whether or not they used the popup.

Yes - this is a common use of Lokally for Indian merchants. Create a region with your high-RTO or high-fraud pincodes, then add a Payment Method Rule to hide COD for that region. Customers in those pincodes will only see prepaid options (UPI, card, Pay Later). Everyone else sees COD as normal.

Yes. In Payment rules, add a rule on Cash on Delivery for All Regions with Always hide. Shopify's own payment settings can also turn cash on delivery off entirely.

Yes. Add a rule on Cash on Delivery for All Regions with Always hide, then a rule for each trusted region with Show in this region. COD then appears only for delivery addresses in those regions.

Yes. Payment method rules include a rename action. You can rename 'Cash on Delivery' to 'Pay on Delivery' for specific regions, or rename 'UPI' to 'UPI Fast Checkout' to emphasise speed for metro shoppers.

Yes. Any payment method visible at Shopify checkout can be targeted by a Lokally payment rule. You can hide, show or rename UPI, COD, card, BNPL, Pay Later, or any other method based on the shopper's region.

No. Lokally's payment rules hide, show or rename methods by region, and its cash on delivery limit hides cash on delivery above an order value. Hiding a method below a cart value isn't supported.

Lokally payment rules work via Shopify's payment customization API, which applies on top of Shopify Payments. Any method you can see at checkout - including Shopify Payments methods - can be targeted by a Lokally rule.

Yes. Lokally payment rules work with all payment methods that appear at Shopify checkout, regardless of the underlying gateway (Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, Paytm, etc.). The rule targets the displayed payment method name, not the gateway integration.

As soon as you publish them: the next checkout uses the new rules. A checkout that is already open may need the shopper to change their address or refresh.

Not natively - Shopify themes show the same announcement bar to all visitors. Lokally's Storefront Content Rules and Announcement Bar Rules let you show different banners, hero images, and promotional copy to shoppers in different states. A Navratri sale banner can show only for Gujarat pincodes while Delhi shoppers see your standard announcement.

Yes, with Lokally's hero banner or slider block. Add it to your home page in the theme editor, then set its image and text for each region in Storefront content. Regions can be a city (e.g. 40* for Mumbai) or any pincodes you choose.

Add Lokally's Announcement Bar block in the theme editor and set its style, countdown, rotation and dismiss options there. Then, in Storefront content, set the bar's text for each region. Shoppers see the text for their region.

Yes. Turn on the countdown in the Announcement Bar block's settings and set the end date with your time zone (e.g. 2026-10-12T23:59:59+05:30). Set the bar's text for the regions you want, such as Gujarat for a Navratri sale. When the timer ends, the bar hides or shows your expired text.

Yes. Lokally announcement bars support marquee (scrolling) mode for multi-message displays. You can configure a list of messages that rotate or scroll within a single bar - useful for communicating multiple regional offers without stacking multiple bars.

Pricing rules can: they have optional start and end dates. Content isn't scheduled; change it in Storefront content when a campaign starts and ends.

Yes, with an element rule: in Storefront content > Element & Section Visibility, target the description's CSS selector, choose Replace and enter the text for that region. Your product data in Shopify stays the same.

Yes, by collection. Put the products in a collection and add a Collection rule that hides it in those regions. Lokally hides the collection on your storefront, and checkout won't complete for those products when the delivery address is in one of those regions.

Shipping zone restrictions are managed in Shopify's native shipping settings (Shipping and Delivery > Shipping zones). Lokally complements this by managing payment methods and pricing for the pincodes you allow. For maximum coverage, use Shopify shipping zones for delivery restrictions and Lokally for checkout experience personalisation.

Yes, for products in collections hidden by a Collection rule. When the delivery address is in a restricted region, checkout shows 'This product is restricted in your selected region.' and the order can't be completed until it is removed.

Yes. You can configure a content rule that shows a specific announcement bar or content block to shoppers in a restricted region - for example, 'This product is not available in your area. Browse our alternatives.' This improves the experience compared to a generic checkout error.

Yes. You can configure reward rules that trigger discount codes or gift cards after a qualifying purchase. Lokally can email the code to the customer for you. The code is also written to an order metafield, so you can deliver it with Shopify Flow or an email platform like Klaviyo or Omnisend instead.

Yes. Reward rules in Lokally are scoped to regions, just like pricing and content rules. You can offer a ₹200 reward code to metro shoppers and a ₹100 reward code to Tier-2 shoppers, or trigger rewards only for specific regional campaigns.

Lokally writes the generated discount code to a Shopify order metafield immediately after a qualifying order is placed. Lokally can email it to the customer for you (Rewards, then Emails). Or, to send it yourself, set up a Shopify Flow automation or a Klaviyo post-purchase flow that reads the metafield and includes the code in the confirmation or follow-up email.

Lokally and Klaviyo do not have a direct native integration, but they work together via Shopify metafields. Lokally writes the reward code to the order metafield; Klaviyo's Shopify integration can read Shopify order metafields and include them in email flows. Set up a post-purchase flow in Klaviyo that pulls the Lokally reward metafield value.

Yes. Reward rules support spend threshold conditions - e.g., trigger a reward when cart value exceeds ₹1,500. You can set different thresholds per region: ₹2,000 in metros, ₹1,000 in Tier-2, reflecting different average order values in each market.

Reward rules fire on every qualifying order - so a returning customer who places another order above your spend threshold in the same region will receive a reward each time. For rewards sent after the order, you can narrow eligibility with the customer tag filter (e.g., tag returning customers as 'loyal' in Shopify and target that tag) or the email allowlist.
